Who Is Alpha For?

Alpha is for anyone…anyone who thinks there may be more to life than meets the eye.

People attend from all backgrounds, religions, and viewpoints. They come to investigate questions about the existence of God, the purpose of life, the afterlife, the claims of Jesus and more. Some people want to get beyond religion and find a relationship with God that really changes life. Others come for the close, long-lasting friendships that are built during the Alpha course.

Many guests have never been to church, others may have attended church occasionally but feel they have never really understood the basics of the Christian faith. Everyone is welcome. The location is Union Presbyterian Church at 858 University, Los Altos, CA in Room A2.

The Alpha Course

At Alpha, there is no such thing as a “dumb” question or a question that is too “out there.”  Alpha is a safe, relaxed environment to bring all questions and doubts.

Alpha is an 10-week course on the basics of the Christian faith. We cover such topics as:

• Who is Jesus?
• Why did Jesus die?
• How can I be sure of my faith?
• Why and how should I pray?
• Why and how should I read the Bible?
• Who is the Holy Spirit?
• What about evil?
• Does God still heal today?

Anyone interested in learning more about the Christian faith is welcome: those who are not Christian, those new to the faith, and those who have been believers for many years.
