Have you ever though about the possibility of losing your
precious children, not to a kidnapper but to the government
that is supposed to protect them? Anonymous Tip by
Michael Farris is a novel about a single mother caught in
that terrible nightmare. Social workers suddenly appear at
the home of Gwen Landis and demand to enter her house.
They take her 4-year-old-daughter into a bedroom to physically
examine her without her mother present. Her ex-husband, who
made an anonymous phone call reporting that his ex-wife abused
their child, sets this traumatic drama in motion. He did this
because Gwen had reported him for failing to pay child support.
the Christian lawyer who defend Gwen and her daughter is determined
to fight for righteousness, and teaches his clients to rely
on God.
While Anonymous Tip is fiction, the shocking thing
is this could happen to anyone. An article in the San Jose
Mercury recently reported that a family almost lost their
child because she wandered outside for a few minutes without
her clothes on. A neighbor made an anonymous phone call. This
case is now being taken to the South Carolina Supreme Court.
The San Jose Mercury article is posted in the library.
Author Michael Farris an an attorney and president of Home
