Have you ever thought about how you would react to Jesus Christ
if you were living when He walked about ministering to people
and performing miracles? I have often wondered if I would have
been a follower.
Today we have the advantage of 2,000 years of history. Supposing
Christ had not come until now, in this modern time and setting,
performing miracles and teaching. He would probably upset many
places of worship and of course, there would be no New Testament.
This is the story of Eli by Bill Myers. The story
is presented in a creative way with a contemporary telling
for the Gospel from the virgin birth in the back of a Motel
6 laundry room to the Messiah's lynching and resurrection.
He is called Eli and is not a robe clad holy man, but the
Son of God in blue jeans and T-shirt. This helps one see Him
as a living figure affecting our culture today.
This is a fast paced book, but the thoughts planted in your
mind will last a long time. Hopefully they will make you grow
spiritually.
