January, 2001
Resolution: to start the year with smiles and laughter. Did
you know that children on the average laugh 400 times a day
and adults average 15 times? What happened to the 385 other
laughs?
Laughing is a good workout for the diaphragm and we breathe
in more oxygen, which is healthy. Frequent laughter helps
to control pain, lowers the blood pressure and relieves. stress.
It sounds like God given gifts for the enjoyment of life.
Home to Harmony by Phillip Gulley will give you lots of smiles.
This is fiction but is told in first person by a man named
Sam Gardner. He grew up in Harmony, always loved Harmony,
and eventually became the Quaker pastor at the Harmony Friends
Meeting. He tells many stories about the people and the happenings
in the small town. Some are warm and fuzzy and some are downright
funny. . . . lots of caring in this little town.
