April,
2003
Holy Week this year is April 13-20. It starts with Palm Sunday,
Passover, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday to victorious Easter
Sunday. There are so many things to think about, learn about,
be thankful about, be in awe and praise of. The library will
have a special display of videos and books, both children's
and adults', about these events.
One special book is Just For You by Max Lucado. It
is beautifully illustrated and written in poetic language.
It is a reminder of how much God loves you and me. This narrative
helps us to visualize how Jesus left Heaven and His crown
of glory to suffer in pain and indignity to a crown of thorns.
JUST FOR YOU! Because He loves us He endured the indignity
and pain of being nailed to the cross. He who had never sinned
took on our sins and paid for them on the cross. JUST FOR
YOU!
John 3:16 says "For God so loved the world that He gave
His only Son." As this book points out, it doesn't say
that He loved the rich, or the famous, or the thin, the Americans,
the Africans, or the Europeans, or the sober , or the successful,
the young, the old, or even the nice. He did it JUST FOR
YOU!
John 3:16 is familiar to most of us, but Max Lucado has
presented it in a whole different way. "God was reconciling
the world to Himself." 2 Corinthians 5:19.
He did this JUST FOR YOU (and me)!
