Winter seems like a great time to stay in a warm house and read
mysteries. We have the beginning of a new mystery series called
The Dani Ross Mystery Series by Gilbert Morris. This
is a new direction for Morris as he usually writes historical
novels.
The first book is called One by One and establishes
that Dani, the daughter of a private investigator, has been
called home to New Orleans to help with the family private
investigating business. Her father is ill and is concerned
because the business is the family income.
Dani had been in seminary studying for the ministry or missionary
work. With determination and lots of prayer, she is able to
combine her calling with investigating, even when kidnapped
along with eleven other people.
None of the twelve know each other but they are united by
one dark secret. They don't know what it is, but their lives
depend on their confessing it and Dani is under pressure to
figure out what it is in a short period of time.
The
second book is called And Then There Were Two. The
Ross agency has been hired to protect a wealthy, ruthless
businessman and to discover who is trying to murder him. His
personal life is complicated by three failed marriages, and
some offspring.
He has found the Lord and now he wants to mend
fences, ask forgiveness, and find his first love.
The mystery series is off to a good start. It is well written
and fun to read as it keeps us guessing.
