One
Small Sparrow by Jeff Leeland is a beautiful true story
by the father of a little boy, who at seven months was discovered
to have leukemia. He needed a bone marrow transplant. There
was a perfect match but the insurance company refused to pay
the cost of the transplant and the family had no possible
way to pay.
This story is about a 13 year old mentally handicapped boy
who started a fund by giving everything that he had and how
an entire junior high student body got behind a drive to promote
the fund for the lifesaving operation. It is also about a
brave little six year old girl who loved her brother enough
to endure an operation for him.
"His eye is on the sparrow and I know He
watches me."
