Gleanings from Price Library by Ruth Abbott

October 2003

Here are some good things to know about our library. We are open every Sunday from 8 am. to Noon. The people at the desk are always happy to help find something for you to read, watch or listen to.

ShadowlandsIf there is no one at the desk, you may make your selection and then check it out yourself. The instructions are on the left side of the counter with a date stamp and ink pad. Stamp both the book and the card and leave the card on the counter.

We have some great children's books and videos. The books are displayed at a level that is easy for children to reach. A table and chairs just the right size for little ones are provided. The first Sunday of each month, Laura Bence has a story time in the library during the Sunday School hour. Following that, children are encouraged to pick out books to take home and read.

We have a nice selection of videos for adults. A few of the new videos are: "Mother Teresa And Her Work", "Charlton Heston Presents The Bible" (4 volumes), "Shadowlands" by C.S. Lewis (2 different videos), and "Forces Of God's Creations; Wind, Water, Earth and Milky Way Beyond" (4 volumes). For those who like to listen to tapes, we have 3 sets of Bibles on tape; Kings James version of Psalms and Proverbs, New American Standard Bible, The New testament, New International Version Bible on cassette (4 vols). Some new tapes are: Going Public With Your Faith (how to introduce your world to Christ), Walking The Bible, Heaven by Anne Graham Lotz and The Messiness Manual.

We are proud of our selection of books; there is something for everyone. The children's books are fun to read and have a message for adults who read to children. In the non-fiction section, both the classics and new books by outstanding authors are very popular. Our selection of fiction books would be hard to beat in any bookstore. There are historical novels, mysteries, serious novels and some just fun to read.

There is always something new happening at the library. Come check us out!
