Born in Modesto and raised in Thousand Oaks,
David Moore is one of four children. His brother and
two sisters live across the western states. With a
mother who is a Presbyterian pastor and a father
who is a retired Pepperdine professor, David says
that both of his parents continually inspire him.
graduating from Pepperdine, David worked as an
insurance claims adjuster but found greater
fulfillment in volunteering at his mom's inner-city
church, where he worked with kids of all ages.

before accepting a cross-country call to a church on
Long Island, where he spent the next eight winters.
He is excited by the thought of winters in Los Altos.
While in New York, David met his wife Kaidi
(pronounced like Heidi but with a “K”). Estonian, but
born into the Soviet Union, Kaidi was in Estonia
when it recently regained its freedom. Kaidi is
studying nursing and will graduate in May from
Stony Brook University.
David loves sports and is willing to shoot hoops or
play frisbee with anyone. He loves hiking and
exploring, geocaching, and playing guitar with the
praise band. He is very excited to be coming home
to California and is busy preparing to come to the
Bay Area by burning his Dodger and Laker shirts.
He and Kaidi will be bringing two dogs: Baxter, a
Cocker Spaniel and Muki, an apricot miniature
In a recent phone call with the PNC, David said, “I
can’t stop smiling” as he expressed his enthusiasm
for joining the UPC family.
